Ricoh Europe is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Assistant Treasurer to join our London-based Global Treasury team. This is a rare opportunity to play a critical role in managing the financial heartbeat of a global technology leader.

As Assistant Treasurer, you'll be instrumental in delivering both global and regional Treasury operations—managing over €1.2 billion in cash, €14 billion in FX turnover, and a € million intercompany lending portfolio. You'll also be a key player in supporting the vision of becoming the world’s leading in-house bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute global Treasury strategy as agreed with Regional Treasury Director. Activities performed by the London Treasury operation are 70% global in nature and 30% regional, therefore the ultimate reporting line of this role is directly into global Treasury.
  • Direct management of 3 team members to ensure all regular operational activities are executed, objectives completed, mentoring provided and management of the performance evaluation and succession planning processes. Significant assistance provided to the recruitment and development of the team overall.
  • Indirect management of Treasury Projects Manager to assist the Treasury Director in ensuring all projects are completed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Lead on the strategic development of Treasury systems, in particular the globally business-critical Treasury Management System.
  • Represent the Ricoh Family Group to the centrally appointed partner bank panel and manage these relationships in a professional manner to protect and advance the interests of the Group.
  • Manage relationships with all non-bank stakeholders to monitor their service delivery and identify useful products and services for the country or regional solutions.
  • Manage developments to key Treasury infrastructure within budget to ensure the efficient running of the function and adhere to the strategic goals of global Treasury operations.
  • Working with Tax and Legal counsel to understand the regulatory environment and the financial restrictions within the markets. Most importantly, that the Group is not exposed to sanctioned countries trade as this can have severe consequences in terms of financial and reputational risk for the Ricoh Group.
  • Provide EMEA Treasury reporting on performance to the Treasury Director and Group Treasury in Japan. Deputise for Treasury Director in dealings with RE CFO, RE Tax & Treasury Director and Group Treasurer as necessary.
  • Partner with operating companies and their management to develop significant insight into their needs which can be supported by Treasury. Provide expertise to drive standard methodology with the management of the subsidiaries on foreign currency and interest rate risk, bank account structures, cash forecasting and other key Treasury initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior business partners within the region to develop processes to ensure adequate safety, liquidity and financial controls for cash management in support of the operating company and initiatives.
  • Manage and ensure successful funding and execution of M&A activity and integration into the regional structure.
  • Manage all aspects of cash and liquidity management across the region as well as various countries in Asia Pacific. Observe developments in the wider financial environment to identify market trends, opportunities and solutions for more than Group entities. Ensure that best practice incorporated within the strategic direction of the Treasury function.
  • Ensure companies follow policy and procedures for Treasury related processes by maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and decision makers across the group

What We Are Looking For

  • Broad experience of all aspects of corporate Treasury and risk management at a senior level in a complex multinational environment
  • Extensive knowledge of the financial markets and how to plan and execute trades and hedging strategies with experienced market professionals
  • Familiar with trade finance instruments such as guarantees and letters of credit
  • Knowledge on recognised treasury management systems (IT2, TM)
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines
  • Comfortable with managing a Treasury function operating with a global scope, across multiple time zones and significant volumes
  • Ability to simultaneously manage daily operational responsibilities across the diverse team and longer term development/initiatives
  • Significant experience of all aspects of corporate Treasury management gained from multinational working environments
  • Ability to engage with senior and executive Managers
  • Has strong foreign exchange knowledge
