Job Title: Assistant Transport Manager

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Onsite)

Salary: From £45,628 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the BAE Systems Transport team, providing the interface between the Supply Chain and its customers while ensuring compliance with Operators License Undertakings
  • Providing mentorship and support to Team Leaders to enhance their decision-making skills
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and operational efficiency
  • Driving SHE initiatives and fostering team wellbeing to promote a culture of integrity and responsible actions
  • Managing Team resources and activities to satisfy project schedule demands, goals and objective

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Road Haulage environment, encompassing transport planning and ensuring compliance with Operators License Undertakings
  • Experience in leading diverse teams, with a focus on people management and their professional development
  • Experienced in stakeholder management and fostering effective engagement to achieve collaborative outcomes

Desirable:

  • Certificate of Professional competence in Road haulage
  • Certificate of Professional competence in Passenger Carrying
  • Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor
