Job Title: Assistant Planner / Town Planner

Location: Reigate, Surrey

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading Care Developer in their search for an Assistant Planner or Town Planner to join their growing planning team based in Reigate.

Working on a wide range of planning projects, you'll gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation
2. Undertake planning research and site assessments
3. Monitor emerging planning policy and assist in preparing planning strategies
4. Liaise with local authorities, external consultants, and internal stakeholders
5. Help manage planning projects through to determination
6. Attend site visits and contribute to community consultation where necessary

Requirements:

1. Degree in Town Planning or a related subject (RTPI-accredited preferred)
2. Working towards (or recently gained) RTPI membership
3. Planning experience (either consultancy or local authority)
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills
5. A good understanding of the UK planning system and current policy
6. Proactive attitude and keen to develop professionally
7. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
