Assistant Planner / Planner – Town Planning Practice

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

We are representing a long-established and award-winning planning and architecture practice, seeking to recruit an Assistant Planner or Planner to join their growing town planning team based in Stevenage.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with at least two years of experience to join a well-regarded multidisciplinary team that delivers a wide variety of planning projects across multiple sectors. About the Role

You will work alongside senior planners and architects on a range of projects of varying scale and complexity. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and submitting planning applications

• Assisting with Local Plan representations and policy reviews

• Undertaking site appraisals and planning assessments

• Supporting planning appeals and written representations

• Liaising with clients, consultants, and local planning authorities

• Contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality, client-focused outcomes

Candidate Profile

• At least 2 years of experience in a town planning role, ideally within a consultancy or local authority

• A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred)

• Strong understanding of UK planning policy and application processes

• Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills

• A collaborative mindset with a proactive and professional approach

• Working towards or already holding RTPI chartership is desirable
