Penguin Recruitment is delighted to present an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Town Planner to join a leading independent planning consultancy in the South-East of England!

Our well-established and dynamic team has been securing planning permissions for projects ranging from small-scale extensions to large-scale residential developments and major regeneration projects for clients in both the public and private sectors. The current team is spread across three locations in the South-East of England, and our client is seeking an addition to their Crawley office.

The duties of this role include a full range of planning services, preparing and submitting planning applications, and following up as required. You will provide regular updates to partners, directors, and the wider team, consult with external and internal stakeholders, research and visit sites when necessary, and assist in preparing Fee letters with relevant information.

We are seeking applications from candidates with some experience in the planning sector, either public or private, with the ability to work independently and assist in day-to-day operations under Director oversight.

Candidate Requirements
  • Ideally hold an RTPI-accredited Town Planning degree and be MRTPI chartered, with a commitment to staying updated with changes in the UK planning system.
  • A minimum of 1 year’s planning experience required, in either the private or public sectors.
  • Understanding of all aspects of the planning process from inception to completion.
