Job summary

Ysgol Treffynnon requires an experienced Assistant to the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator to support ALN provision across the school. The role involves coordinating delivery, maintaining records, and contributing to Individual Development Plans and reviews.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination, delivery and evaluation of Additional Learning Needs provision across Ysgol Treffynnon.
  • Identify needs, maintain accurate records, contribute to Individual Development Plans and review processes.
  • Coordinate and deliver interventions, support deployment of ALN teaching assistants and help staff implement provision.
  • Communicate with students, families, teachers, support staff and external agencies to ensure effective ALN support.

Assistant to the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator

Assistant to the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (AALNCo)Start date: as soon as possibleYsgol Treffynnon is situated on a modern learning campus, which it shares with a primary school, Ysgol Maes Y Felin. The design of the learning campus is beautiful, unique and innovative, possessing state of the art multifunctional classrooms throughout.We are seeking to appoint a skilled, resilient and highly effective Assistant to the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (AALNCo) to support the coordination, delivery and evaluation of Additional Learning Needs provision across Ysgol Treffynnon.Working under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher/Additional Learning Needs Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that students with Additional Learning Needs receive high quality, well-coordinated support which improves their learning, wellbeing, engagement and independence.The role combines direct work with students with significant responsibility for supporting the systems that underpin effective ALN provision. This will include supporting the identification of need, maintaining accurate records, contributing to Individual Development Plans and review processes, coordinating and delivering interventions, supporting the deployment of ALN teaching assistants and helping staff understand agreed provision, reasonable adjustments and strategies for individual students.The successful candidate will work closely with students, families, teachers, support staff, external agencies and other educational providers. They will be confident communicating with others, highly organised and able to exercise sound professional judgement while recognising that statutory accountability for ALN remains with the ALNCo and senior leaders.We are looking for an experienced HLTA or suitably qualified practitioner with strong experience of working with children and young people with Additional Learning Needs.
