Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Assistant Technical Officer to join the Cytolab team in Cytotoxic Chemotherapy production. You will train in aseptic production, prepare and assemble chemotherapy medicines, and support delivery to wards and City Campus.

Role involves stock management, rostered shifts and contributing to safe, high-quality patient care within NUH's pharmacy production unit.

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade C or above in English language and Maths.
  • Possession of or working towards NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
  • Hospital/healthcare production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble and manufacture chemotherapy treatments for NUH patients.
  • Deliver cancer treatments to NUH wards and City Campus departments.
  • Assist in ordering and managing stock within Cytolab aseptic unit.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Assistant Technical Officer to join the Pharmacy Production team in the Cytotoxic Chemotherapy production Department (Cytolab) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). You will be joining a team of hardworking and dedicated pharmacy professionals who compound cancer treatments for NUH patients. You will receive full training from our dedicated and experienced pharmacy production team. Once trained, you will be required to prepare, assemble and manufacture chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. You will also be required to deliver cancer treatments to NUH wards and departments and the City Campus and support the department in ordering and managing stock. You should familiarise yourself with the job description attached to this advert for the full list of duties and responsibilities. The post holder will undertake all technical duties in the Chemotherapy Production Unit, participating in the provision of all aseptic services, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and MHRA guidance, to ensure a high-quality, safe, timely and consistent service and contributing to the overall operation of the department.

  • GCSE grade C or above in English language, Maths, Possession of or working towards NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services in the relevant units for pharmacy production, Hospital experience
