Assistant Technical Officer

Two opportunities have arisen within the Cardio, Respiratory and Vascular Department (CRV) at The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for, an Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) with working hours of 37.5 and 30 hours per week to support the provision of our 5 day service.

This will include working in both an Outpatient and Inpatient setting which, is rotated through the week to ensure workload is distributed fairly and both Outpatient and Inpatient service provision is maintained.

Main duties of the job
  • .Performing routine and non-routine procedures, including ECGs and hook-up of ambulatory monitoring with the knowledge and skills developed through external and in house training to NVQ3 equivalent level. Ensuring that ECG placements are accurate and the procedure is performed to the highest level, following the SCST guideline.
  • To maintain accurate patient records in both electronic and written format. To submit and maintain activity data using manual and electronic means in line with trust and departmental policies.
  • Being aware of any adaptations that need to be made when performing these tests i.e. performing an ECG on paediatrics compared with adults. Using own judgement when something needs escalating to a senior member of staff
