Are you looking to join a dynamic and friendly MASH team on a permanent basis? We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Team Manager to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team within the Referral & Assessment service.

Your new role

MASH is the first point of contact for all potential safeguarding concerns related to children. This co-located team brings together various agencies and their information to identify risks and needs of children at the earliest possible point, responding with effective and coordinated actions. The goal of MASH is to make timely and appropriate decisions for families, ensuring necessary actions to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

As an Assistant Team Manager, you’ll lead a team of Senior Social Workers and Social Workers in delivering our statutory and legislative duties, fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment, whilst promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people in Slough while effectively managing risk.

What you'll need to succeed
  • You will need to be a Social Work England registered social worker with a professional social work qualification.
  • You will have substantial post-qualification experience in children and families social work, with a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Experience managing newly qualified Social Workers and unqualified staff.
  • Specialist knowledge of key issues affecting children and their families such as Domestic Abuse, Mental Health, Radicalisation, Neglect, and Contextual Safeguarding.
