Assistant Team Manager – Family Safeguarding Team

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for an Assistant Team Manager within the Family Saf safeguarding Team to work Full Time based in Berkshire.

The salary for this permanent Assistant Team Manager job is up to £47,420 per annum.

  • Oversee the management of Social Workers allocated caseloads, to include assessments of children, families and parenting and other work to meet statutory requirements.
  • Ensure high quality, timely preparation and submission of written reports, including statements and care plans for care proceedings. Support Workers in court work and preparing evidence.
  • Manage a small group of staff within a team of Social Workers and support staff, applying WBC staff policies and procedures.
  • Oversee allocation of work to team members, audit case files, care records and management issues.
  • Provide advice and support to members of the team in relation to all cases.
  • Be involved with or lead on matters of recruitment, training and personal development, absence management, retention, grievance/disciplinary procedures.
  • To monitor, assess and manage risk within the delivery of the service and escalate issues to managers in a timely manner.
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required.
  • Undertake professional and reflective supervision, carry out annual performance appraisals in line with West Berkshire guidance and timescales, acting to address performance issues.
  • Use a range of leadership styles appropriate to individual team members and the situation.
  • Encourage team members to reflect on experience and learning, actively encourage transfer of learning.

Requirements of this Assistant Team Manager role:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Flexible working wherever possible between the hours of 07:00-19:00
  • Hybrid working wherever possible working 40% in the office
