Job Title: Assistant Team Manager - Youth Justice Team

Hourly Pay Rate: £26.15 - £30.21

Work Pattern: 2 days a week in the office

Location: Constantine House, Constantine Road, Ipswich IP1 2DH

Length of Assignment: 6 Months

The Role

The Suffolk Youth Justice Service (SYJS) works with children and young people who are in, or on the edge of, the Youth Justice System. The service collaborates with parents, carers, and victims of youth crime. SYJS is a multi-agency partnership hosted by Suffolk County Council.

The aim is to prevent offending by children and young people and protect the public from harm caused by their offending. The service also focuses on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of these children and young people, while enhancing their life aspirations and opportunities. Suffolk Youth Justice Service is working towards becoming a trauma-informed organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Operations Manager in the operational delivery of multi-agency teams and/or specialist programmes and projects addressing offending by children and young people, e.g., the Sexually Harmful Behaviour Service.
  2. Support operational multi-agency teams offering services such as structured intervention programmes aimed at preventing offending, harm, and anti-social behaviour.
  3. Manage staff, including seconded staff from partner agencies.
  4. Develop and maintain local links with partners and stakeholders, e.g., police, probation, courts.
  5. Lead in a specific practice area or project delivery.
  6. Deputise for the Operations Manager and lead multi-agency teams in their absence.
