Purpose of the Role: Bullet Express is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Operations Supervisor to join our nightshift team. The successful candidate will assist the Nightshift Supervisor in the daily running of the site to meet business objectives, ensure customer satisfaction, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). This role involves providing emergency cover for driver sickness, controlling the operations team, and planning loads for C+D and partner vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Nightshift Supervisor in managing daily operations.
  • Provide emergency cover for driver sickness and ensure timely delivery of freight.
  • Supervise and control the operations team, ensuring smooth running of the department.
  • Report and manage discrepancies, maintaining a secure and safe working environment.
  • Ensure drivers follow correct company procedures for reporting and health and safety.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly administrative duties to support network and customer requirements.
  • Supervise staff to ensure adherence to Health and Safety controls and correct use of PPE.
  • Report incidents and near misses, ensuring proper communication and documentation.
  • Utilize IT systems to ensure smooth operational roles and highlight system errors.


Behavioral Competencies:

  • Ability to supervise and anticipate issues, executing plans in a timely manner.
  • Must hold Class 2 licence, to provide cover for local drops, as and when required
  • Problem-solving with a proactive can-do approach.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions to meet business and customer needs.
  • Proficient communication with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Professional conduct in timekeeping, health and safety, IT suites, training, and housekeeping.
  • Operate with the highest integrity and accountability.
