About NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Position Details

This is a permanent, part-time position with a 4-week rota for Out of Hours (OOH) shifts. Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Assist Team Leaders in managing the GP Out of Hours Service (OOH) and support appointment booking during busy periods.
  2. Oversee shift coverage, especially when Team Leaders are not on duty.
  3. Organize and set up daily appointment diaries for GP OOH PCEC.
  4. Ensure calls from NHS 24 are processed and dispatched appropriately to maintain a safe and efficient clinical service.
  5. Provide guidance to support staff and escalate issues as per escalation plans.
Candidate Requirements
  • Good computer knowledge, excellent communication skills, and proficient IT skills.
  • Driving license preferred.
