Salary: A GBP 23,167 - A GBP 26,425 per annum, depending on experience.
Brighton College Prep School is seeking an Assistant Teacher to start in August 2025. This is a full-time role, working in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Teacher who is fully integrated into the life of the school and Brighton College as a whole. Candidates will need to hold a Level 3 qualification or above due to the nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with teachers regarding planning and with staff to ensure continuity and progression.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Arrange and set up learning environments for impactful pupil use, including outdoor areas.
- Plan and deliver interventions and assess pupils.
- Assist specialist teachers in curriculum delivery and school events.
- Share responsibility for pastoral care and foster good relationships among children and staff.
- Liaise with the Learning Support Leadership.
- Create a stimulating learning environment with class teachers.
- Support the teaching team with organisational duties.
- Observe children and upload comments and assessments to Tapestry.
- Represent the school during marketing activities and open events.
- Attend school functions as required.
- Follow duties and procedures outlined in the staff handbook.
- Participate in INSETS and professional development.
- Model good speech, dress, and behaviour.
- Support co-curricular activities, including running a weekly after-school club.
- Assist with after-school groups and holiday clubs as scheduled.

Hours
- 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with core hours from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm, including breaks.
- Additional hours for after-school clubs and holiday clubs.
- Term time plus five days during school holidays.

- Annual leave included in salary; holidays to be taken outside of working weeks.
