Job summary

Places for People Group, through Places Leisure, is seeking an Assistant Swimming Teacher in Haywards Heath to support the Swimming Teacher in lessons for babies to adults, helping learners build skills and confidence in the water under supervision.

You'll work with a small group, assist with class management, and help ensure safe, enjoyable sessions. Level 1 UKCC or equivalent is required, with opportunities for training and generous staff benefits including health membership and discounts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with children and as part of a team.
• Level 1 UKCC Swimming Teacher qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Swimming Teacher in lessons for babies to adults.
• Support swimmers to develop skills and confidence in the water.
• Manage a small group of learners under direction of the Swimming Teacher.

More about your role

As an Assistant Swimming Teacher you will support the Swimming Teacher in swimming lessons from babies to adults. You'll work closely with the Swimming Teacher in supporting swimmers develop their skills and confidence in the water. Within lessons, you may be responsible for a small group of learners learning a specific skill, under the direction of the Swimming Teacher

Must have:

• Ability to work with children
• Ability to work as part of a team

Preferred:

• Experience at assisting in swimming teaching/ children's classes.

Technical / professional qualifications:

• Level 1 UKCC Swimming Teacher qualification, or equivalent.
