Arup in Newcastle is seeking an Assistant Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. You will work on technically challenging, city‑shaping projects, learning under experienced engineers while contributing to calculations, designs and BIM models.

The role offers mentoring toward chartership, exposure to diverse disciplines, and a supportive, inclusive culture with a focus on low‑carbon design and professional growth within a global practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (2.1 or above).
• ICE or IStructE accredited course and motivation to work towards chartership.
• Passion for structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural analysis, modelling, calculations and hand analysis.
• Design economical, practical structures minimising embodied carbon and achieving sustainability goals.
• Create and review computer & structural engineering models to monitor building behavior.
