Job summary

Boots Opticians in Lowestoft is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead the team, deliver an outstanding customer journey, and work with the Store Manager on the commercial plan. You’ll be involved across the store from customer service to clinical activities, including patient pre-screening, dispensing and accuracy checks, with opportunity to help team development.

You’ll manage rotas, conduct reviews, and participate in Boots’ training to grow your clinical knowledge and leadership capabilities,

Qualifications

• GOC Registration is required to practice optics.
• Experience in a customer-facing role is essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop clinical knowledge.
• Experience leading or coaching a team is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the team to deliver an exemplary customer journey.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to deliver the commercial plan.
• Contribute to customer service, store operations and clinical activities such as patient pre-screening, dispensing and accuracy checks.
• Manage a team, create and maintain rotas, and conduct performance reviews.
• Participate in Boots' training programmes to develop clinical knowledge and leadership skills.

Job description

As an Assistant Manager at Boots Opticians, you will lead and inspire your team to deliver an exemplary customer journey. You will play an important role within your store, working closely with the Store Manager, to create and deliver the commercial plan to help the business to grow and change for the better. Working across the whole store, your days will be full of variety. You will be involved in everything from customer service, store operations as well as the clinical activities which include patient pre-screening, dispensing, accuracy checks and much more. You will manage a team with a variety of experience and clinical knowledge, providing you with the opportunity to help them develop their knowledge, skills and shape their future careers. This also includes completing management tasks such as creating and maintaining rotas, return to work reviews and performance management. We will support you in completing our industry leading 'Step into Optics' training programme along to help you to develop your clinical knowledge. With leadership training programmes also available, we are committed to helping you develop and carve out a career at Boots Opticians.
