Poundland is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a team and delivering exceptional service across all store operations. You will drive performance, coach colleagues, manage stock, and uphold high standards while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

The role focuses on leadership, sales performance, and day-to-day store management in a fast-paced retail setting, with development opportunities toward Store Manager roles.

About The Role

Join us here at Poundland as an Assistant Store Manager and play a key role in supporting the Store Manager to lead, motivate, and inspire the team to deliver amazing service and outstanding store standards every day.

You’ll be right at the heart of the store, helping drive performance, hit targets, and make sure everything runs smoothly, from customer service and team coaching to stock management, operational excellence, and loss prevention. With your support, the store will be a safe, welcoming, and well‑organised environment for our colleagues and customers alike.

A confident, people focused approach is essential. You’ll inspire your team, develop future succession, and lead by example, while keeping an eye on sales, performance, and the day‑to‑day operations of a busy retail store.

Previous retail experience and essential people leadership skills will help you thrive, along with strong organisation, commercial awareness, and the ability to stay calm and focused in a fast‑moving environment.
