Job summary

Gibbs Oil Company is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Convenience Store in Portsmouth. This role focuses on developing management skills in a retail setting while delivering excellent customer service.

You will assist the Store Manager, provide top-notch customer support, manage inventory tasks, train new staff, and keep the store clean and welcoming. The position is full-time and requires flexibility to cover nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage positively with customers and team members.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and store operations is a plus.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for lengthy periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
