Job summary

Zachary Daniels is seeking an Assistant Manager for a new pop-up store in Portsmouth, supporting the Store Manager and delivering a strong customer experience.

You'll lead from the shop floor, drive sales, manage stock, and contribute to a successful launch. The role is a 4-month FTC with potential to become permanent.

Assistant Manager | Sportswear & Fashion Retail | Portsmouth | Up to £35,000 | 4-Month FTC

We're working with a growing sportswear and fashion retailer to recruit an Assistant Manager for an exciting new pop-up store in Portsmouth.

This is a 4-month fixed-term opportunity, with the potential for the role to become permanent as the business continues to grow.

We're looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or experienced Supervisor who can support the Store Manager, lead from the shop floor and help deliver a successful new store launch.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you'll work closely with the Store Manager to support the day-to-day store operations, drive sales and deliver an excellent customer experience.

You'll be responsible for:

• Supporting and motivating the store team
• Driving sales and delivering against KPIs and commercial targets
• Leading by example on the shop floor
• Delivering an excellent customer experience
• Supporting visual merchandising and brand standards
• Assisting with stock management and deliveries
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training
• Coaching the team to maximise sales and performance
• Taking responsibility for the store in the Manager's absence
• Supporting the Store Manager with day-to-day operations and performance

About You

We're looking for an experienced Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager, or an experienced Supervisor ready to take the next step, who enjoys being hands-on and working in a fast-paced retail environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous retail management or supervisory experience
• Experience leading and developing a retail team
• A strong commercial mindset and understanding of retail KPIs
• Experience driving sales and delivering against targets
• Strong customer service and customer experience skills
• Experience with stock management and store operations
• A hands-on approach and willingness to roll your sleeves up
• A genuine interest in sportswear, fashion, fitness or performance retail
