About the Role

As an Assistant Store Manager at Matalan, you'll role model our values and behaviours to support the Store Manager in exceeding sales and profit targets, and delivering all KPIs in your store.

Develop and lead a high-performing team, drive an inspiring VM proposition, and ensure stock availability is maximised. Engage the store team to deliver excellent customer experiences daily.

Responsibilities include:

1. Collaborating with the management team to drive performance, development, and succession planning.
2. Fostering a service culture through coaching and sharing best practices.
3. Driving commercial opportunities via sales analysis, floor walks, and delegation of actions.
4. Ensuring compliance and completing audit activities.
5. Conducting performance reviews and encouraging feedback.
6. Following VM guidelines to create an inspiring shopping environment.

About You

• Previous retail management experience, ideally in volume retail.
• Proven track record of achieving high standards and KPIs.
• Strong customer engagement and service skills.
• Effective leadership, listening, and communication abilities.
• Good analytical skills and data interpretation.
