Job summary

Toolstation Limited in Gillingham (Kent) is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to lead a busy branch. You’ll support the Store Manager, coach the team, check deliveries, stock shelves and maintain great customer service.

You’ll motivate colleagues, drive targets, handle deliveries, open/close, and ensure a safe, clean store. The role is 40 hours a week on a 6-month fixed term contract with excellent training and career progression.

• Supporting the Store Manager in their absence or helping achieve targets
• Leading, coaching and engaging the team to create a great place to work
• Mucking in with deliveries, stock, opening/closing the branch and keeping it clean
• Delivering a great customer experience with a smile, even when busy
• Asking questions and building relationships to ensure customers have what they need
• Maintaining product availability and high branch standards to create a welcoming environment

Day-to-day

• Supporting. Whether you’re deputising for the Store Manager in their absence or supporting them in achieving and exceeding targets.
• Leading. Coaching, motivating and engaging the team creating a great place to work where engagement is key.
• Mucking in. Checking and unpacking deliveries, opening and closing the branch, stocking shelves, cleaning the branch and putting orders together.
• Delivering great service. Providing a great customer experience with a smile on your face – no matter how busy you are.
• Asking questions and building relationships. Making sure our customers leave the branch with everything that they need for the job.
• Building a fun working environment. Maintaining our great product availability and high branch standards, while making sure that your branch is somewhere everyone loves coming to work.
