Job summary

Anakin Seal Legal in Leeds is seeking an Assistant Lawyer to join its Regulatory, HSE and Inquests practice. The role offers hybrid working with one day in the office and opportunities to work on high-profile regulatory and criminal investigations.

You will support senior lawyers, draft statements, review evidence, and attend hearings and inquests, developing your expertise in health & safety, local authority prosecutions, and transport regulatory matters within a collaborative specialist team.

Qualifications

• Experience in criminal law or regulatory law is desirable.
• Interest in health & safety, inquests or transport regulatory work.
• Strong advocacy, drafting and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to attend courts, police stations and client meetings as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with regulatory and criminal defence matters.
• Review and analyse evidence and disclosure.
• Collate and manage case documentation.
• Take witness statements.
• Draft instructions to Counsel and experts.
• Attend court hearings and inquests.
• Support clients during investigations and interviews under caution.
• Develop relationships with insurer and commercial clients.
