About The Company

Avocet Recruitment is working alongside a well renowned national house builder that require an Assistant Site Manager on their development in Taunton.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedAssistant Site Managerto support the delivery of a new-build residential development in Taunton. You will work closely with the Site Manager and wider construction team to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of site operations
  • Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to programme
  • Monitor quality control and ensure NHBC standards are met
  • Liaise with sub-contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Support the coordination of trades and ensure site logistics run smoothly
  • Promote a positive health & safety culture on site
  • Conduct regular inspections and progress reports
  • Assist in delivering a high standard of customer satisfaction

What Were Looking For

  • Experience as an Assistant Site Manager or in a similar supervisory role within residential construction
  • Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and UK building regulations
  • Valid SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS card, and First Aid certification
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems proactively
  • Commitment to high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism
