Job description

Job Introduction:

Are you passionate about joining a high-performing, customer-focused on-site construction team and genuinely care about building affordable quality homes where they are needed most?

If you are passionate about what we do here at Gleeson and are considering a new challenge, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our Construction team. You will work with external partners and subcontractors while collaborating with our onsite Sales team.

To be considered for this role, you should share our Gleeson Values of being Passionate, Collaborative, and Respectful, along with having previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager working on high-volume new build housing developments.

Main Responsibilities:

We are looking for proactive individuals who genuinely believe in our mission—building homes and changing lives. We need collaborative leaders who positively influence teams and communicate effectively across departments, both on and offsite. You will reinforce directions set by the Site and Contracts manager, helping to deliver the development safely and on schedule. Leading by example is essential.

The role includes:

  • Ensuring the safe operation of the site, reinforcing Home Safe procedures, maintaining attention to detail, and proactively ensuring compliance.
  • Supporting the management of onsite Construction and Customer Care responsibilities.
  • Ensuring effective compliance, control, and deployment of Construction and onsite Customer Care activities according to company policies and processes. Managing defects post-completion in a timely manner to achieve 5-star customer satisfaction.
  • Liaising with all stakeholders and suppliers, both internal and external.
  • Maintaining and establishing relationships, including engaging with local communities and promoting the Gleeson model.
  • Using Zutec and Digital Plot Books.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • CSCS card as a minimum.
  • NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision or similar, or working towards it, with a Pass or Distinction.
  • SMSTS card holder.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • CISRS Scaffold qualification.
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and processes.
  • Awareness of relevant codes of practice, such as NHBC and Building Regulations.
  • Experience in the housebuilding industry.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor is preferred.
  • Full UK driving license.

Please ensure you bring your qualifications to the interview, as we will request evidence.

Benefits:

  • Generous holiday entitlement of 26 days per annum plus bank holidays.
  • Choice of company car or car allowance.
  • Discretionary Bonus Scheme.
  • Holiday Buy Back Scheme.
  • Company Pension Scheme.
  • Private Medical Insurance Scheme.
  • Healthshield membership.
  • Life Assurance Scheme.
  • Share Purchase Plan.
  • High street/store discounts.
  • Development Opportunities.
