Job Title: Assistant Site Manager - East Lothian

We are recruiting an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a well-established residential housebuilder on a long-term temporary basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. Based on a busy site in East Lothian, you will play a key role in supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of a large-scale new build housing development, with a particular focus on social and affordable housing. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable company known for delivering quality homes and maintaining high standards across their developments.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Site Manager in overseeing all site operations and subcontractor management
  • Ensure build quality and safety standards are maintained throughout all stages of construction
  • Monitor progress against programme and report on milestones and delays
  • Support with site inductions, toolbox talks, and general health & safety compliance
  • Liaise with suppliers, trades, and local authorities as required
  • Provide clear communication and direction to teams on site
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and productive working environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager (or similar) in new build housing is essential
  • Must have a proven background in social or affordable housing developments
  • Valid CSCS card, SMSTS (or SSSTS), and First Aid certification
  • Strong understanding of NHBC standards and current building regulations
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic site environment
