Job summary

Lawtech Ltd is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the site manager in delivering specified works on time and to budget, within a safe and efficient framework. You will liaise with QS, H&S, ISO, and other managers to ensure project delivery across cladding remediation contracts in London and the wider Southeast.

Established over 20 years, Lawtech is a leading principal contractor specialising in cladding remediation with multi-million-pound projects.

Qualifications

  • ONC or equivalent qualification/experience in construction-related discipline.
  • Relevant NVQ in a construction-related discipline.
  • CSCS card required.
  • SSTS beneficial.
  • QCQA is a must.
  • EWI experience beneficial.
  • Competent user of MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
  • Keep up to date with H&S regulations and company processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with management of specified works and workforce to agreed productivity levels, deadlines and budgets.
  • Assist with management of delivery of the works to programme and communicate requirements to the workforce.
  • Assist with coordinating labour and material requirements for efficient use of stores and resources.
  • Liaise with project manager/QS/buying department to ensure timely orders and material deliveries; monitor labour and material requirements and documentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with client staff, funders and other third parties; take ownership of management of works within remit.
  • Understand scope and manage resources to deliver works on time and within budget.
  • Provide information to produce and control delivery of works to workforce.
  • Maintain agreed quality standards and communicate programme/contract requirements to workforce.
  • Keep accurate records on site per legislation and company policies.
  • Work with project management, commercial/QS to manage sub-contractors, LOSC, orders, budgets and costs.
  • Coordinate with H&S to deliver the site safety plan, risk assessments and COSHH, with documentation on site.
  • Coordinate with ISO and Design & Quality for total service/product delivery.
  • Engage with resident liaison and customer service to resolve residents’ issues.
  • Monitor workforce performance and implement improvement plans.
  • Raise and resolve contractor/sub-contractor issues; attend site/management meetings.

Role Overview:

The role of the Assistant Site Manager is to be responsible to the Site manager for the onsite management and delivery of the specified works to time and budget, in a safe andeffective manner. They will liaise with QS, H&S, ISO, technical and other managers withinthe company, to ensure delivery of the project.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Assist with management of specified works and workforce, to agreed productivitylevels, deadlines and budgets.
  • Assist with management of delivery of the works to programme and communicateall requirements to the workforce, supporting them in the production of theirsections of the programme.
  • Assist with co-ordinating labour and material requirements across the works / siteteams to ensure efficient use of stores and resources.
  • Liaise with project manager/ QS / buying department to ensure timely placing of orders and sequence ofmaterial deliveries. Keep control of the labour and material by constant andaccurate monitoring of the site requirements and related documentation.
  • Assist the maintenance and building of relationships with all key client staff andstakeholders, funders and other third parties, as required.
    Take full ownership of all aspects of management of works within your remit.
  • Understand the scope and manage the resources required to deliver the works totime and budget.
  • Be in possession of all relevant information to assist with producing, maintainingand controlling the delivery of the works, communicating information to theworkforce as required.
  • Maintain agreed quality standards, communicate those standards, all programmeand contract requirements to workforce.
  • Maintain complete and accurate online and printed records for all aspects of theworks, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulation and company policies.
  • Work with project management, commercial department / QS to ensure sub-contractors, LOSC, orders, budgets and costs are managed.
  • Work with Health & Safety department to ensure delivery of the construction phaseH&S plan, risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments andensure all relevant documentation and notices are available on site.
  • Work with ISO and Design & Quality departments to ensure total management ofservice and product delivery, across the works.
  • Work with resident liaison and customer service personnel to manage and resolveresidents’ issues to their satisfaction.
  • Monitor workforce performance through objectives and action plans, as required.
  • Ensure all contractor and sub-contractor issues are raised and dealt withappropriately.
  • Attend site and management meetings weekly, fortnightly, monthly as required.
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry regulations, H&S legislation and companyprocesses and procedures
Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical – ONC or equivalent qualification/experience in construction-relateddiscipline
  • Relevant background within cladding/facades
  • Have completed or be in the process of obtaining a relevant NVQ in a constructionrelated discipline.
  • CSCS card
  • SSTS is beneficial
  • QCQA is a must
  • EWI experience is beneficial
  • Competent user MS Excel, MS Word, Microsoft Outlook email and calendars.
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry regulations, H&S legislation and companyprocesses and procedures.
  • Undertake other training necessary for delivery of your role.
  • Driving licenseand access to own vehicle would be beneficial.
