Job summary

Construction & Property Recruitment is seeking an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join a premier new-build housing development in East Dunbartonshire. You will work closely with the Site Manager to deliver high-quality homes on time, safely and within budget.

You will oversee day-to-day on-site operations, coordinate trades, drive NHBC standards and health and safety, and support handover to new homeowners.

Qualifications

• SMSTS and CSCS Card required.
• First Aid at Work certificate required.
• UK driving licence essential.
• Residential housebuilding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of UK building regulations and safety standards.

About the Role

Are you a motivated and detail-oriented construction professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join our clients team at a premier new-build housing development in East Dunbartonshire. Working hand-in-hand with the Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality homes safely, on time, and to budget. You will oversee day-to-day on-site operations, coordinate diverse trades, and ensure our strict standards of craftsmanship and health and safety are maintained at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Assist the Site Manager in coordinating day-to-day site activities, managing subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
• Quality Control: Conduct routine plot inspections, manage the snagging process, and ensure all homes are finished to NHBC standards and internal quality benchmarks.
• Health & Safety: Drive a culture of safety across the development by conducting site inductions, delivering toolbox talks, and performing regular safety inspections.
• Progress Tracking: Monitor build schedules against construction programmes, maintaining detailed records of labour levels and milestones.
• Customer Care: Support the handover process to ensure a seamless experience for new homeowners.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience as an Assistant Site Manager or experienced Finishing Foreman/Supervisor within residential housebuilding.
• Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and a current CSCS Card.
• A valid First Aid at Work certificate.
• Deep understanding of UK building regulations and health and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
• A trade background or a construction-related qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
• A valid UK driving licence.
