Job summary

Persimmon Homes in Gainsborough is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in delivering the development on time, to budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

You will supervise on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, maintain records, ensure inspections and compliance with NHBC/LABC standards, and advocate for safe working practices. Full UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Experience in house-building/ construction site supervision.
• Knowledge of NHBC/LABC/Premier standards is desirable.
• Understanding Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• CSCS card is required; SMSTS preferred.
• Driving licence is required; training will be provided where needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of the construction site to ensure on-time completion, to specification and safety compliance.
• Ensure quality and safety inspections are carried out in line with Group guidelines.
• Coordinate with warranty providers, authorities and utilities to deliver the build programme.
• Maintain accurate development records (inductions, HSE, timesheets, incidents, quality checklists).
• Supervise workforce including subcontractors to meet targets within budget and agreed quality.

What is the role?

The purpose of the role is to assist the Site Manager with the management of the construction site according to company guidelines and goals ensuring all aspects of the project are in conformity with proposed budgets, timelines and construction and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of a construction site, to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations, while complying with company and construction build and quality standards
• Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out in accordance with Group guidelines
• Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third-parties, such as warranty provider, local authorities and utility companies to ensure achievement of the build programme
• Maintaining accurate records for the development including but not limited to, staff inductions, Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists
• Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with Group guidelines
• Supervise activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors, to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards and within budget
• Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company such as Sales and Customer Care to ensure achievement of targets, for example prompt resolution of customer care issues and timely updates relating to plot progress
• Ensure compliance of the site workforce and all visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimise incidents and accidents

What experience do I need?

• Experience within the house building industry is essential
• Understanding of the NHBC or /LABC/Premier standards
• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
• Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred
• Full UK Driving Licence is required
• Qualified to minimum NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable, however training will be provided
