Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an Assistant Site Engineer for a temporary assignment in Milton Keynes. You will interpret designs, set out earthworks and drainage using GPS and Total Station, and support the delivery of program milestones with close coordination on site.

Essentially you will have civil engineering background, a CSCS card, and a full UK driving licence, with strong communication and proactive, quality-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and understand design specifications and drawings.
• Carry out setting out using GPS and Total Station equipment.
• Deliver setting out for earthworks and drainage.
• Review design information and raise technical queries to ensure smooth workflow.
• Contribute to the 4-week lookahead programme for the area’s works.
• Coordinate with supervisors and engineers on site activities.
• Support delivery of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Identify, report and close out Non-Conformances (NCRs).
• Communicate effectively with engineers, designers and client representatives.

Assistant Site Engineer - Civil Engineering

Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

Our client is looking to add an Assistant Site Engineer to join their team in delivering major infrastructure works.

As an Assistant Site Engineer, you will play a key role in interpreting technical designs, coordinating site activities, and supporting programme delivery across your section of works.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and understand design specifications and drawings
• Carry out accurate setting out using GPS and Total Station equipment
• Deliver setting out for earthworks and drainage
• Review design information and raise technical queries to the Section Engineer and Site Engineers to ensure smooth workflow
• Contribute to the 4-week lookahead programme for your area's works
• Work closely with supervisors, Site Engineers and the Section Engineer to co-ordinate effectively with other site activities
• Support delivery of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Identify, report, and close out Non-Conformances (NCRs)
• Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, enabling functions, and client representatives

About You

• Experience delivering earthworks, drainage or RC frames
• Competent with GPS and Total Station equipment
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Proactive and quality-driven approach

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A civil engineering educational / on-site background
• A valid and relevant CSCS card
• A full UK driving licence
