Job description

We are seeking an Assistant Signalling Project Engineer to lead the delivery of a new, cutting-edge Signalling System for a major transport network. This is a high-profile, multi-million-pound programme that will shape the future of safe, efficient, and reliable rail services.



What You'll Be Doing

  • Take the lead on the design, delivery, testing and commissioning of a new signalling system.

  • Develop and maintain specifications and standards for design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair.

  • Carry out audits and inspections to ensure compliance with engineering and legislative standards.

  • Provide high-level technical advice to internal teams and external partners throughout all project phases.

  • Oversee the integration of this project with other major programmes, including fleet replacement and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Supervise internal engineers and consultants, ensuring timely delivery and technical excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and support safe operational practices across the project lifecycle.
