Job description

Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for an Assistant Shift Operations Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station near Bicester, Oxfordshire.

The vital Assistant Shift Operations Technician role comes with a salary of �44,589 (inclusive of shift allowance and a location allowance) + up to 10% Bonus + overtime + Benefits

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

* Monitoring and conducting plant checks on the machinery within site to ensure optimum performance is always maintained.
* Carry out and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and Safe System of Work
* Follow company procedures in reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
* Assist in reaching the daily production targets as defined by site management.
* Have a proactive approach to the improvements of operational and safety efficiencies within site
* Assist with loading and unloading operations
* Operation of mobile plant and machinery
Please note: This position is working 40 hours per week on a 6-week rolling shift rota between days and nights



Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

* A formal qualification in and engineering discipline would be ideal but not a necessity
* A health and safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous
* Mobile plant operation licences would be ideal (forklift, counterbalance, etc)



Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Assistant Shift Operations Technician role would suit someone who has:

* An Understanding of process/factory machinery.
* Ability to use sensory skills to monitor the running of machinery.
* Previous experience working within a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
* A proven track record of high performance in a similar industry
* Willing to work 12 hour shifts



Salary and benefits of the Assistant Shift Operations Technician role

* A basic salary of �36,030
* Shift allowance of c.�6,000
* Location allowance of �2,654 per annum
* up to 10% Bonus
* Overtime
* Private medical
