Assistant SHES Advisor (Part Time)

Murphy are looking for an Assistant SHES Advisor to assist with the SHES Management in the implementation of Group SHES Management Systems and provide SHES advice and support to employees across the CP6 NW & Central framework, based at our Golborne Office. This role is part time, working 20 hours per week.

This role is perfect for someone looking to develop their professional qualifications and gain experience in a SHES role.

What you will be doing:

  • Establish and promote best practice in safety, health, environmental, and sustainability (SHES) matters in conjunction with the SHES department.
  • Assist the SHESQ team when providing advice and creating awareness information and support Managers and Supervisors to discharge their responsibilities for the SHES of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by Legislation and Company Procedures.
  • Assist the SHESQ Advisors to ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
  • Support site SHESQ teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Construction SHESQ Plans.
  • Assist the SHESQ team in carrying out regular inspections of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and the relevant Statutory Provisions.
  • Assist carrying out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences
  • Collate Business Unit / Contract SHESQ statistics in a timely manner and submit to the SHESQ team & SHESQ Department for reporting purposes
  • Review SHESQ statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Develop and implement Project / SHESQ campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the SHESQ Manager
  • Support Safety advisors in undertaking assurance activities.
  • Provide support to Project teams in the development of SHE Project Plans.
  • Assist the production of Contract SHESQ plans, procedures and associated documentation.

What we are looking for:

  • Someone looking to develop their professional qualifications and gain experience in a SHES role
  • Good understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
  • MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project)
