Assistant Service Manager - Theatres and pre-assessment services

The closing date is 11 December 2025

The Theatres, Anaesthetics and Pre-Assessment Services are undergoing an exciting expansion: two new theatres are coming into service; robotics surgery is being introduced to the Trust; and an exciting transformation programme of work being rolled out across the perioperative services. The department is a support service, meaning we support all surgical teams and services within the SWNS division. Therefore, this post holder will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to build a wide range of relationships in order to provide a great service. Theatres, Anaesthetics and Pre-Assessment Services are integral to the divisional operational, financial and RTT targets and we're looking for a high performing individual to join our team to help deliver against those targets.

Main duties of the job
  • Building good working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring administrative processes are completed to a high standard
  • Supporting with troubleshooting any on the day issue including maintenance issues, staffing and flow issues
  • Supporting with the various departmental meetings
  • Leading on workstreams for the theatre's transformation programme
  • Line management responsibilities for administrators
  • Supporting the theatre nursing teams with administrative tasks
  • Creating internal processes and updating current processes whereby a gap is identified
