Job Description:

Job Title: Assistant Service Manager
Location: Petworth
Salary:£42,000 – £48,000 (DOE)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm + some Saturdays (rota basis)

My client is loookingfor a motivated and organised Assistant Service Manager to support the daily operations of our service department. You’ll work closely with the Service Manager to lead the workshop team, ensure excellent customer service, and help drive departmental performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing service operations and team workflow
  • Support customer relationships, handling updates and resolving issues
  • Monitor Work In Progress and optimise callouts
  • Help drive revenue through upselling and customer retention
  • Track KPIs and assist in performance improvement plans
  • Support coordination across departments for parts and scheduling
  • Maintain health & safety and service administration compliance
  • Mentor technicians and apprentices
What You’ll Need:
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of machinery and seasonal industry demands
  • Confident working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a senior engineer looking to step up
