Job summary

United Response is seeking an Assistant Service Manager in Gateshead to lead and develop services for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, ensuring safe, person-centered support.

You will work with the Registered Manager to oversee staff teams, maintain compliance with CQC standards, and drive continuous improvement within a values-driven, supportive leadership culture.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health needs.
• Experience supervising, coaching or developing staff teams.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, CQC requirements and regulated activities.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota.
• Ability to travel between locations when required.

Responsibilities

• Support leadership, supervision and development of staff teams.
• Drive high-quality, person-centred support and positive outcomes.
• Support safeguarding, risk management and safe working practices.
• Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and organisational standards.
• Monitor quality, performance and continuous improvement activities.
• Support rota planning and operational delivery.
• Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
• Build positive relationships with families, professionals and stakeholders.
