We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Assistant Service Manager in the Department of Medicine for Older People (DMOP) within the Integrated Medicine Division.
We are seeking an individual with clinical experience, an excellent track record of delivery, strong leadership, and analytical skills, coupled with a desire to improve and succeed.
The post holder will support the day-to-day operational management of the DMOP departments.
You will assist the Service Manager in achieving performance targets, including waiting times, contracted activity levels, financial management, standards, and quality of services, as well as managing daily escalations to the operational team.
The role requires Intermediate Excel skills, including advanced formulas like INDEX, SUM, AVERAGE, and IF statements for efficient spreadsheet use.
You will apply your knowledge of NHS performance targets and work closely with the Service Manager to understand service priorities and plans, translating these into detailed activity and capacity adjustments using your analytical and operational knowledge.
You will oversee the doctors' 24/7 staffing rota, be responsible for the timely recruitment of junior doctors, and manage line responsibilities for Patient Pathway Coordinators, ward clerks, and team leaders.
