Job description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative individual to join the Surgical Division as Assistant Service Manager. If you have a dedication to providing the best service for patients and possess excellent interpersonal skills, this post will be of interest to you!

The post holder will be involved in all aspects of service performance management and development and will be a key member of the team deputising for the Service Manager across various duties. They will also participate in the bronze rota, gaining valuable operational skills across the wider division and hospital.

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will need to lead, motivate, and influence individuals both within and outside the organization. They should have excellent communication and analytical skills and be capable of managing the competing demands of the role while supporting the Care Unit Management Team within the Trust.

You must handle confidential issues professionally and work effectively under pressure. Experience working in a similar role within a busy healthcare setting with operational service management experience is required.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital, located in Calow, Chesterfield, is situated on a greenfield site near the Peak District National Park. It features the Crooked Spire and is close to Sheffield, Derby, and Nottingham, offering numerous recreational options.

Since its opening by the Queen in 1985, Chesterfield Royal Hospital has expanded and modernized, now with approximately 550 beds. It provides acute inpatient and outpatient care for Chesterfield and North Derbyshire, serving a population of about 350,000 people.
