We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community. As an Assistant Service Manager, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Assistant Service Manager
Location: Blaenau Gwent

Hours: 37. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins.

Salary: £27,224 per annum, plus sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and paid travel expenses at 45p per mile.

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. You’ll be visible in the day-to-day operation, supporting duties in line with the needs of the people we support. Your shifts will be on a rota basis, which may include sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the daily running of the service, providing leadership, monitoring performance, conducting one-to-ones and appraisals, and holding team meetings.

You’ll build positive relationships with all stakeholders and implement our vision and values to deliver a first-class service. Your main focus will be on promoting independence for the people we support, organizing and modeling support in an innovative, person-centred, and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.

Who we are looking for:
  • Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards it)
  • A strong caring nature to support others in living an enriched life and fulfilling their potential
  • Knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
  • Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as needed
  • A full driving license — essential, with willingness to travel for meetings and training
  • Access to your own car and willingness to use it for transporting people, with business insurance coverage (we pay 45p per mile)
