A local care provider in Blaenau Gwent is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support individuals with learning disabilities. This role involves working closely with the Service Manager to ensure a safe environment and promoting independence among supported individuals. Candidates should have relevant experience, hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or be working towards it, and possess a full driving license. Hours: 37. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins.
Salary: £27,224 per annum, plus sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and paid travel expenses at 45p per mile.

In this role, you’ll work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. You’ll be visible in the day-to-day operation, supporting duties in line with the needs of the people we support. Your shifts will be on a rota basis, which may include sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the daily running of the service, providing leadership, monitoring performance, conducting one-to-ones and appraisals, and holding team meetings.
You’ll build positive relationships with all stakeholders and implement our vision and values to deliver a first-class service. Your main focus will be on promoting independence for the people we support, organizing and modeling support in an innovative, person-centred, and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.
