Qualifications

Job Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to build on your foundation knowledge gained through either your accredited degree in Rural Estate Management or agricultural experience to achieve full APC status. Joining an energised, collaborative, flexible and supportive team you will play a key role in providing great water for a stronger, greener and healthier North West.

You will promote sustainable land Management with the development contributing to strategies to optimise the economic, environmental and social benefits generated from Company landholdings. You will play a key role in our efforts towards a stronger, greener, healthier North West.

You will be involved in most facets of rural land Management supporting the area land agent across subjects such as landlord and tenant matters, developing new income opportunities, agri-environment schemes, supporting biodiversity aims, improving wildlife habitats, facilitating water catchment regeneration schemes and other capital investment and maintenance work across the estate.

  • A managed estate area of circa 28,000 acres primarily within the Bowland Fells SSSI with sites across Blackburn and Burnley
  • Farms

Some travel around the estate is required so a full UK driving licence is required as part of this role.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Promote Agricultural best practice in line with all current legislation and guidance
  • Undertake minor rent reviews, lease and licence renewals and new lettings
  • Assist in the management of all farm/agricultural tenants and licensees to ensure compliance with terms of tenancy agreement and to monitor and reduce the risk of pollution
  • Maintain all rural property records/databases to ensure that records are accurate and up to date including GIS mapping of leased areas
  • Work towards the APC in a timely manner with the aim of attending final assessment of the APC at the nearest appropriate date following completion of 24 months of relevant experience

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Motivation to complete your APC qualification
  • Proven experience in Agriculture and Rural Estate Management Including agricultural, residential and commercial tenancies
  • Ability to balance conflicting interests, particularly when reconciling operational requirements for clean water with variety of other land uses including agriculture, forestry, recreation, conservation, and commercial
  • IT skills with good knowledge of Micro-soft and GIS

This role may not be eligible for visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors accredited degree in Rural Estate Management or equivalent
