Job Title: Assistant Retail Store Manager
Location: Wallington

Shift Patterns: 5 days out of 7 (Weekend work included)

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our client as their Assistant Retail Store Manager. We are recruiting for an industry leader in the fashion sector to join the management team, reporting to the Retail Store Manager.

As the Assistant Retail Store Manager, you will maximize the store's profitability by optimizing sales opportunities within planned costs. You will manage daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service through staff training, and lead by example to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities
Increasing Store Profitability & Sales
  • Monitor store performance daily, weekly, monthly, and annually, providing reports to assist the store manager in improving performance.
  • Use KPIs to enhance store performance and sales.
  • Be aware of store performance metrics such as customer footfall, conversion rate, and average spend.
  • Show initiative in product placement and concession prioritization.
  • Ensure staff are aware of sales targets and strive to exceed them.
  • Train staff in visual merchandising.
  • Ensure sales floor layout aligns with company guidelines to encourage customer flow and sales opportunities.
Customer Service
  • Maintain high customer awareness and interaction standards.
  • Seek continuous improvement in customer service levels.
  • Enhance product knowledge among staff and yourself.
  • Line manage store assistants.
Staff Management
  • Assist the store manager with recruiting staff, ensuring staffing aligns with budget and store requirements.
  • Support onboarding and induction of new staff.
  • Review and appraise staff performance, identifying potential for development.
  • Set clear work objectives to optimize team deployment for store success.
  • Maintain and develop successful business relationships.
Experience & Requirements
  • Previous experience as a retail supervisor/manager, preferably in fashion, but other disciplines like hospitality or business are also considered.
  • Experience supervising teams.
  • Confidence in supervising small teams and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Flexible to work weekends and longer shifts as required.
  • Available for 39 hours per week with shift flexibility.
  • Proficient in administration, reporting, and health & safety.
  • Experience in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing staff.
