Job description

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Assistant Retail Manager to help ensure the smooth running of operations in a major High Street brand on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Understand and deliver all contractual terms.
  • Communicate any on-site client changes to your line manager.
  • Communicate regularly with the client (as agreed).
  • Communicate regularly with sub-contractors (as agreed).
  • Promote the accommodation and amenity units and act as a Compass Advocate at all times.
  • Ensure all services are delivered to the correct standard.
  • Look for opportunities to develop our service.
  • Seek ways to improve work activities and promote efficiency.
  • Develop contract specifications and SLAs to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Report health and safety issues, including accidents and near misses, to your line manager.
  • Promote good safety habits and safe systems of work.
  • Deliver training on machinery operation, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure contract staff are qualified and experienced.
  • Manage staff availability, resource planning, and prediction of shortfalls/excesses.
  • Handle succession planning, team briefings, and performance management.
  • Motivate teams and foster cross-team cooperation.
  • Manage expenditures to ensure value for money.
  • Maintain auditable records.

Essential:

  • Possess excellent customer-facing, people, and operational management skills.
  • Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have team management experience, including performance management, coaching, and service contract oversight.
  • Be smart, polite, and well-presented.
  • Have excellent customer service skills.
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Have experience with Health & Safety culture and financial controls.
  • Possess FM experience and a driving license.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Aviation.
  • Familiarity with maintenance software.
  • Knowledge of transport management systems.
  • Experience managing multiple sites with Compass.
