Qualifications

Salary: £16,825.38 per annum + benefits

Hours per week: 26.5 weekdays/weekends

Role Overview

As an Assistant Retail Manager, you will support the team to encourage sales, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain high standards of stock presentation and store cleanliness.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Retail Manager in maximizing sales through high standards of display, proper stock rotation, and accurate pricing of donated items.
  2. Maintain merchandising awareness, stay updated on trends and competitors.
  3. Maximize Gift Aid income and oversee the display and administration of bought-in goods, minimizing stock loss.
  4. Engage customers and coach volunteers and staff to promote donations, charity contributions, and loyalty scheme sign-ups.
  5. Engage with the community to encourage repeat visits, donations, volunteer recruitment, and involvement.
  6. Support the Retail Manager in volunteer recruitment and management, ensuring adherence to Marie Curie procedures.
  7. In the manager's absence, take responsibility for store operations.
Key Criteria
  • Previous retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
  • Experience in cash handling and financial procedures, including sales record keeping.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and workload prioritization.
  • Understanding of health and safety in retail.
  • Experience in managing and motivating volunteers is desirable.
