Job description: Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry and a strong background in restaurant operations. This role involves assisting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will play a key role in team management and staff development, contributing to a positive work environment.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to quality standards.
- Supervise and train staff in serving practices.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and support for professional development.
- Take responsibility for the effective leadership of the restaurant employees in the absence of the General Manager, to ensure the efficient operation of the Restaurant.
- Ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and regularly reviewed, and that formal and informal feedback is used to ensure continual improvement.
- Ensure company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored, taking appropriate action to resolve problems.
- Ensure the restaurant area, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Assist with the recruitment, selection and utilisation of restaurant employees to achieve the optimum use of employee resources.
- Any other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management.
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- A passion for the hospitality industry and commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences.
