Join us as an Assistant Relationship Director

  • This is a chance to join a busy and growing business area in RBS International and help manage a portfolio of Institutional Banking customers, providing excellent customer service throughout the customer’s journey
  • We’re looking for a team player to build and maintain good commercial relationships across the bank and with our clients
  • This is an opportunity to get great exposure across the business with regular client interaction, team working and the opportunity to contribute at meetings
  • This is an office first job, so most of your time will be spent on site at our Guernsey office
What you'll do


As an Assistant Relationship Director, you’ll act as a contact for a portfolio of clients, processing customer instructions and requests. You’ll be inputting customer information onto our systems accurately and in a timely manner and acting in accordance with regulatory requirements and standards. We’ll look to you to make sure that the correct policies and procedures are followed at all times.


In this key role, you’ll generate new business through relationships with both prospective and existing clients. You’ll also be expected to support management in achieving the agreed targets through the development of client relationships and quality customer referrals.


You’ll also be:

  • Supporting managers to achieve growth targets
  • Handling taking on new clients and holding meetings with customers
  • Maintaining and updating client records to show any changes in their status
  • Contributing to the coordination of workflow to deliver client satisfaction
  • Working as part of a unified team and supporting other team members
The skills you'll need


To excel in this role, you’ll need to have experience of providing first class customer service. You’ll also need excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues and interacting with clients. We’re also looking for someone with good numeracy skills and a strong educational background.


You’ll also be expected to have:

  • General accounting experience with knowledge of business applications
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills
  • An awareness of risk in a financial environment
  • The ability to work unsupervised with strong levels of accuracy
