As the Assistant Warden, you will play a pivotal role in driving biodiversity gains across South East Suffolk’s reserves. Working closely with our Reserves and grazing teams, you will implement targeted habitat management, help care for Trust livestock and conduct regular ecological surveys, while your hands-on skills will keep maintain machinery and tools and support producing annual reports.
You will lead and inspire dedicated volunteer groups, embedding robust Health & Safety practices, coordinating essential training, and nurturing an inclusive, motivated culture that powers our critical conservation work. As an ambassador for Suffolk Wildlife Trust, you will champion best-practice land stewardship with partners, farmers and visitors, welcoming the public through open days, guided walks and vibrant social-media storytelling.
By maintaining safe, inviting trails and forging ecological links with neighbouring high-value sites, you will help position our reserves within the southern Broads National Park and Suffolk Coast as flagships for regional nature recovery, advancing the Trust’s vision of a Wilder Suffolk for everyone.
This permanent, full-time post (37.5 hours, £24k–£26.5k) is based at Foxburrow Nature Reserve.
