Job summary

STRABAG UK in Bolton is seeking a Commercial Assistant to support project teams with commercial tasks and reporting. You will help prepare valuations, cost reports and applications for payment, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and procedures.

The role requires strong Microsoft Office skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to work with site staff and junior colleagues. A CSCS card and construction experience are advantageous for success in this position.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card required or preferred.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in construction/engineering environments.
• Commercially astute with knowledge of standard contracts and measurement methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to site staff on commercial issues within the Project(s).
• Encourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team.
• Provide support and guidance to junior staff on commercial issues within the Project(s).
• Assist in the preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
• Assist in the preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
• Assist in the preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
• Assist in the administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts and payments up to final accounts.
• Assist in contract administration, change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
