Job summary

Ashbrittle Limited in the Greater London area is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team and support the full commercial lifecycle of residential projects. The role focuses on assisting with budgets, cost reports, subcontractor procurement, and payments.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will help monitor costs, prepare monthly reports, review drawings, and support close-out activities as part of a growing residential developer.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
• Experience within construction, ideally residential new build.
• Good understanding of construction costs and subcontractor packages.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A keen eye for detail.
• The ambition to progress within a growing residential developer.
• Relevant construction/commercial qualifications or working towards them would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Quantity Surveyor with the commercial management of residential projects
• Assisting with the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts and cost reports
• Assisting with subcontractor procurement and tendering
• Preparing and reviewing subcontractor payments
• Assisting with valuations, variations and final accounts
• Monitoring project costs and expenditure
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly commercial reports
• Supporting the management of subcontractor accounts
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and scope of works
• Working closely with site and commercial teams to ensure projects remain within budget
• Assisting with the commercial close-out of projects
