Job summary

Vistry Group is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for our Basingstoke office. You will support the commercial delivery of residential developments, reporting to the Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor, assisting cost management from procurement to final accounts.

Qualifications

• HNC or degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• Good knowledge of building regulations and legal obligations
• Strong maths and IT ability; proficient in Excel
• Understanding of standard measurement rules and budgeting
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Willing to work extra to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Attend site pre-start meetings with the Senior / Quantity Surveyor
• Assist with compiling tender packages for sub-contract trades
• Receive tenders and assist with analysis of each trade
• Issue sub-contract orders within policy and budget requirements
• Liaise with Build Department on sub-contractors’ performance
• Provide forecast and site budget information for reporting
• Assist with cost movements and monthly reporting
• Process invoices and payments per contract terms
• Maintain project administration in the Business Management System
• Prepare final accounts and variations
