Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Rail – Manchester

Salary: £27,000 - £33,000
Location: Salford, Manchester
Regions: Manchester, North West

A Tier 1 Contractor is currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a major Civil Rail project in Salford, Manchester. The project is valued at £11m per annum and is a part of the CP5 framework.

The ideal candidate should be:

  • Degree Qualified or hold a HNC/D in Quantity Surveying (similar degree to be considered)
  • Previous experience within a rail environment
  • Worked for a main contractor within civil engineering

Key tasks:

  • Cost reporting
  • Sub contractor payments
  • Contract correspondence
  • Variations submission / review / agreement

Must be able to demonstrate:

  • Agreement of variation accounts with Clients
  • Sub-contractor final accounts
  • Agreement of variation accounts with sub-contractors
  • Procurement within budget
  • Profitable contracts
  • Positive cash flow
  • Accurate cash-flow forecasting
  • Accurate measurement for estimating

The client has an excellent track record of developing staff through an extensive training system which offers the opportunity to undertake various Diplomas or become RICS accredited.
